Hello, I’m Miguel Ángel, a student of Administration and Finance at the Salesians Centre ”San Juan Bosco” of Morón de la Frontera, Seville, Spain. I came to Malta for an internship experience for 8 weeks from April to May of 2022. I would like to thank the Friends of Don Bosco and the CheckIn team for welcoming me and for supporting me in everything I needed. Improving my English and professional skills has been very easy here and I believe it is the perfect place to do it.
My volunteering experience in Malta was amazing. I spent one year living there and working with the Don Bosco team creating projects, videos and also I was part of some beautiful social projects with teenagers. Malta is full of people from around the world where you can meet friends almost every day if you want! It is not only a volunteering experience, but there are so many things to do in your free time!
I was fortunate enough to participate in this long-term ESC volunteering project, and it was a valuable and memorable experience for me.
When I arrived in Malta, my hosting organisation had already been working on several projects. I had the opportunity to choose the project team based on my interests and desires.
The team members helped me to familiarise myself with the local lifestyle and culture. All support, encouragement, and friendly attitude towards me made my year very enjoyable. I fell in love with each member of the organization. As for my direct duties at the office, I was involved in several projects where I focused on social media management of the organisation’s platforms. I created content and advertisements for their Instagram and Facebook pages and also had the opportunity to work on applying for various EU funds. Additionally, I was involved in diverse outdoor activities and participated in meetings for educational and interactive games. The work has always been very exciting and engaging and I knew I was at the right place at the right time. I recommend all youngsters to try this experience at least once in their life.
